Imangali Tasmagambetov
Imangali Tasmagambetov stressed that security requires a comprehensive approach and cannot be considered solely through military policy or international relations.
Against a backdrop of changing economic and logistical ties, he emphasised dialogue and trust and called for preventing further fragmentation of Eurasia.
Nikolai Bordyuzha
Nikolai Bordyuzha warned that abandoning arms limitations, confidence-building measures and incident-prevention mechanisms increases the risk of an accidental military conflict.
He identified distrust and estrangement between political elites, together with an unwillingness to discuss existing problems through dialogue, as serious challenges.
